Re: Free Local Fox Control
Hi,
I will travel for up to an hour. Depending on several factors.
The extent of the problem. How safe the area is to shoot on. Noise nuisance caused by rifle/shotgun etc. The amount of land that needs to be covered, i.e.. 100 acre farm or someone’s back garden etc.
Why don’t you call me and we can discuss what the best course of action is.
I'll email you my number.
Cheers

I was wondering how a fox had got into a house in winter when most of the openings are closed. OH suggested Catflap! How worrying, have you been called over to cull?
I do hope that people start thinking more clearly about foxes and stop feeding them or making it easy for them in towns.

No, I have not been called in. The local council will not authorise people to run around town shooting foxes. If a cull is authorised it will be very closely monitored around parks and commons etc.
I'm sure it will be a case of trapping on a large scale with the foxes dispatched behind closed doors.
People still get offended when the word cull is used.
I shoot a lot of foxes in close proximity to built up areas. It takes a lot of careful planning. Safety is paramount.

I need help badly with a fox - I am in Wiltshire so not that local. We have been trying to trap him for nearly three weeks - he comes every night but never fully goes into the trap. He backs out as the barrier goes down. Have also tried a snare. He went up a supposely fox proof ladder and killed some of my hens

I have a friend coming to shoot a fox that's pinched my duck tomorrow night. I don't know if its a dog or vixen but, at mating time do they live together? Will pups be born yet? I don't know much about a fox life.

Hi M8WHR1
A mated pair do tend to stay with each other and " Yes " Pups are out and about.
Depending on several factors you can have lots of foxes from differing groups all with their own small territories running around causing you grief.
The availability of food usually determine litter sizes and behaviour etc Climate also plays a big part.
Now is a busy time for me conducting fox control.
Good luck for tomorrow night but remember.... You get rid of one and another soon takes it's place.
It's an ongoing process I'm afraid.
Prevention is better than cure.
Hope this helps ?

Re: Free Local Fox Control
Thanks jim. Ach I suppose the foxes won't be long in finding empty territory but its hard to properly free range birds without worrying if I will have any left at bedtime. And to stock proof our garden would cost quite a pretty penny as there's 2 acres of woodland.

If you've got plenty of room and are able to house them a couple of goats will normally see of foxes and guard your flock during the dayM8WHR1 wrote:Thanks jim.
