WEATHERPROOF NEW COOP

Having made my new coop what to use to protect the wood not being familiar with the products in France any advice please
7 chickens, 2 dwarf goats, 4 Old English Sheepdogs, oh and the wife

Not sure if they have a 'creosote' type product over there. Failing that, a good quality exterior wood preserver would probably do the job ok.

Yacht varnish is very water resistant too.

1 Wife, 3 children, 1 Staffie Bitch (RIP Marley), 1 Chi-Chi, 1 Tuxedo Cat, 1 part Maine Coon cat, male bearded dragon, Horsefield Tortoise, 2 White Silkies, 1 Frizzle Pekin, 1 CLB, 1 Appenzeller Spitzhauben Cockerel, 1 blue laced Wyandotte, 3 Appenzeller x Wynadotte pullets, 1 Call drake, 3 khaki Campbell ducks, 4 (2 male 2 female?) Aylesbury x Campbells, a breeding colony of Dubia cockroaches.

And a lot of Ibuprofen.

There are lots of wood preserver but would a spirit base type be ok for chickens and yacht vanish @£20 a litre at our local DIY store works out very expensive

You wouldn't use anywhere near a litre of yacht varnish I wouldn't have thought. It's quite thick stuff, so it would only need one, maybe two at a push, coats

I don't think spirit based would be an issue. Proper creosote has far more nasty stuff in and that doesn't seem to bother them.
