Where are you? We go to an auction on the last Saturday of every month where there are always loads of chooks for sale you have to be careful and know whats what! It is at Ffaifach, Llandeilo - Carmarthenshire, South West Wales. There is a chap whom I've had lovely Lohmann pullets (been to his farm and am very impressed with his set up) from in the past and intend to buy some Light Sussex off him this year.
Chris

love me, love my 4 dogs, 3 cats, over 100 chickens (but don't tell OH) and 7 sheep - oops, almost forgot the 2 tanks of fish!

I live in my own little world but it's ok - they know me here!

Hi chris!
please to meet you!

I am in Penrith Cumbria think its a long way to where you mentioned as far as I can tell,
I am just so frustrated as I only want 2 or 3 hens as my Rooster is in need of female company!
and just for the eggs to eat and maybe if we get lucky with the rooster a few chicks maybe next year

Shame I just can't find any nearer to me!

Hi
Had a good search since you Pm'ed me and all I can find Is Glencroft's version, which is a Sussex X.

I think you are going to have to wait for Carlisle's and Longtown's Marts. I think one of them is next month!?!
Our local paper has them advertised once in a while but not for the last few months :dontknow:

Hi and welcome Loveducks.

Can't help with LS hens, as I'm in Dublin, but thoroughly recommend a little flock. They're great!
