We are very proud owners of some beautiful Brahmas. Our broody hen hatched four eggs last September, three chicks are growing normally but one little tiny one is less than half the size of the others and has not progressed as well. The chick has all the attributes of a Brahma but the size of a silkie. Here is a photo of our special boy who we call Legolas.

It looks like a Buff Columbian Brahma charliebear85 - not sure what it would be without feathered legs though

Hows about these, taken in June this year. Two days old and it was so hot it was possible to put such young chicks out for the full day without being concerned about chilling, quite the opposite in fact.

Hello.
i've got a 7 month old dark brahma boy that stands around 26 inches high, but how long will it take him to reach full size,or there abouts ? will he grow much taller or just put on weight ?i don't think he'll be big enough to show. i'd like to raise a buff columbian boy and some partridge ladies this year, they're absolutley stunning.

Brahmas take quite a while to mature so he still has some growing and filling out to do - I have only had one LF Brahma boy (lost him last year and loking for another to go with his 7 wives), I would say he was 18 months old before he reached maturity.

Chris is right - 18 months to 2 years and then they really begin to fill out - this is one of mine - not a very elegent angle - but he is 18 months old and hasn't yet stopped growing

I have two six week old dark brahma males looking for new homes. They are very friendly and confident, sharing a run with adult hens.

They have to go because their sisters are staying.

One is perfect in every way, lots of green in his feathers!
The other has a crooked toe due to a naughty little boy taking his egg out of the incubator and not telling me for half a day! Lucky he hatched at all! Otherwise perfectly healthy and feathering up nicely.

Both of these should be big like their dad and will make great living garden ornaments if nothing else! They come and sit on my knee when I'm in the garden :).

Photo at five weeks (struggling to get some sun to take pics this week).
