Hens not laying

Post by Birdybarb » 04 Jun 2016, 14:00

Hi Everyone
I have 3 ladies 1 Rhode Island cross Light Sussex and 2 Cream Legbar cross Light Sussex.
The Rhode island cross is laying happily but the other 2 girls are pretending to lay and come out of the house shouting Iv'e laid an egg but never actually produce any  They have laid in the past and are only 2 years old but we have had a neighbours cockerel annoying them recently.....he has now gone...... but still no eggs.
Any ideas
Thanks

Are they moulting, or having a mini moult? They will go off lay if doing either. Another thing to consider is when they were last wormed and if they need worming again.
Penny and Freckles - the WArren Girls'
Star and Flopsy (the latter of the floppy comb) both members of the White Star Faction.
Fedora and Florence the Cream Legbars
Emily (see Emily lay) and Erica the Light Sussex babes
1 current husband aka the structural engineer
1 large organic allotment
The Lady Isabella Pickford-Fiennes, a feline of distinction and excellent mouser

Thanks Organic Chick :-)
They don't seem to be moulting and I wormed them in March so shouldn't be the problem. It's very odd the way they shout I've laid an egg and when I go to look there's nothing or they've been sitting on the other girls egg :-(
