Not only is it very impressive, but it says a lot that the scottish education system fosters practical education that will be of use when children leave school.

It's smashing! How I wish they'd done woodwork for girls when I was at school. Had to wait til I left and go to evening classes.

Brilliant

I would have much preferred woodwork to cookery :?
No choice though when I was at school. I never, ever remember to bring ingredients for the week's lesson though, so always ended up making bread

I was in the first group of girls allowed at our school to do woodwork back in 63 not against cookery though I still did that but against music or art , it was a hard choice against art though we only had a single lesson for technical drawing which I loved and double for practical where as for cookery we had a whole morning, I still have in use today a magazine rack I made from walnut

It is a beautiful table you are right to be proud Julia, my son made a tack box for his cousin for his GCSE
what is his next project ??
