Spinning in Lewis

Post by Loudmouth Schnook » 19 Jan 2009, 22:58

For all you Lewis residents that may be interested. I attended a spinning group (new) in Barvas this past Saturday. There will be two more workshops, one first Sat in Feb and the last one in March. It doesn't go all year as most people are crofters and get busy lambing after that. It's held at the Barvas community centre. More spinning tuition/practice next meeting and the final meeting will involve dying. PM me for more details if interested.

BOTH!! (yay!!) If you ever manage to get a Saturday off (only two more sessions, this month and March), let me know - Jane Eastwood is the one who told me about it and we went together. Perhaps if you manage, we can collect you on the way!

We did some spinning at junior school (many years ago) with a drop spindle. Really enjoyed it, although the yarn didn't spin very even.

I'd love to pop along, but your a tad too far for me
