The Haynes manual is about the best I have read. All you need to know but put in an easy way and most importantly, for dummies like me, nice big pictures

I just got Choosing and keeping chickens by Chris Graham http://www.amazon.co.uk/Choosing-Keepin ... 321&sr=8-3 I got mine in german though, but it's full of sound advice and loads of photos, it only covers a few breeds. however it's only a fiver on amazon...well worth it.

I can also recommend Colplete Encyclopedia of Chickens http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Encycl ... 547&sr=1-1 Loads more breeds covered and loads of information. only 7 quid on amazon

Any poultry book by Katie Thear is worth a read.
