The problem was that they weren't eating them... they usually cause complete chaos to get to tomatoes.. I've put it down to the moult.. they were very out of sorts! #-o

I think the perch rounding off is to prevent deformities in the feet but am probably wrong! :oops:

I've had this with a batch of apricot jam this year... I think it's something to do with the pectin and not filling the jars fast enough.. Is it set quite firmly? :)

Chickens are indeed quite brutal, Darwinism at it's finest I'm afraid... Poor you finding your favourite like that! :(
