Re: Shed converted or chicken coop

Thankyou so much guys, I was leaning toward the shed idea but needed to hear it from others. Yeah, I could spend £130 on a coop from ebay that advertises the coop as a 12 bird coop, but without actualy seeing it I could be buying a small pile of rubbish, yeah, shed it is, 6ft x 4ft from Wilkies, the...

Shed converted or chicken coop

Hi guys, the prices of a 12 bird chicken coop on ebay are the same as that of a brand new 6ft x 4ft shed from Wilkies. Would you sooner buy an already set-up 12 bird chicken coop or spend the same amount of money on a shed and then convert the shed into a coop by basicaly putting in 3 nest boxes, a ...

Re: 1 sq yard or 3 sq feet?

 thanks guys Think I will get 2 Rhode Rocks, 2 will fit on the same perch nicely, if I got 3 then the 3rd may not fit on the same perch and be forced to sit on the opposite perch making one hen an outcast, plus, if I only get 2 hens now, I can get 2 more next year thus extending my egg income. ...

Re: Chicken Run on Patio -floor options?

Spot on guys, im on a slight angle, so the bottom layer of paving bricks will not be cemented together, there will be gaps inbetween a few bricks for drainage, no rain water should run through the chicken run as the top layer of bricks will be cemented together and to the concrete yard, the sides wi...

Re: Chicken Run on Patio -floor options?

What,s a kick board guys? My coop is going on concrete, i was gonna lay out lengths of wood first, just in an oblong formation for the coop/run to sit on, no more nails the base wood to the concrete, silicone all around the outside of the wood to stop rain flooding through the run, then place the co...

Got permission

Hi Guys, Just thought i would pass my good news on, im in a council property with a large back yard, so firstly i asked permission to erect a fence on top of the backyard wall and replace the waist high gate with a higher more sturdy gate, i was granted permission in writing to do this. I then asked...
