Well totally confused now when they hatched one was the usual fluffy yellow the other brown, as they grew changing colour the yellow went white with the usual black markings of the Light Sussex the other stayed brown but with the marking of the LS in black. I have a Rhode Island Red coq and light Sussex hens and have always been led to believe the chicks would be brown for male and white for female but mine have turned out the opposite have i got the wrong information or is it just a one off they are my first chicks hatched last February. also told tha...

There are lots of wood preserver but would a spirit base type be ok for chickens and yacht vanish @£20 a litre at our local DIY store works out very expensive

We finally have our chicks 4 sussex hens and a Rhode island red cock 8 weeks old apparently, i am now being told of all the things i must do by well meaning friends who dont keep chickens such as they must go to the vet for vaccination, mite powder what they can and cant eat, the breeder told us wha...
