This is a piece of grass fed Belted Galloway beef from Golden Howe farm in Cumbria. It weighs 9lb, and I think it looks beautiful.
Ive just had a box of beef delivered from them and it all looks superb.
What do you think?

In my subconscious I must have a hankering to go north
I have a bearded collie, the breed originated in Scotland, and highland cattle, and now I'm doing my shopping in Kendal |

That looks fab, lovely cut! All you need now is a bottle or two of Lyth Valley Damson Wine or beer! Lyth Valley just outside Kendal is renouned for its sloe and damson and not so far away from where I use to live. There use to be a great pub that initially started the wine and beer in a micro brewery...great area name (my local pub) The Mason's Arms, Strawberry Bank
Here's Lyth

See you just have to go north |

Our South Devons make such a HUGE carcass they are too much for us two and I haven't got time to split it up. My little highland for the freezer needs another 12 months before he will be ready but thats why we started with them in the first place, much smaller carcass for our own use. |

Ahh, I'll forgive you for that Did you know the best beef ever for marbling is Jersey x Belted Galloway. Your Highland should be nice.

I find it hard to believe that a Jersey crossed with anything makes a good beef animal but I did read something the other day that was saying they make good beef.
All three Highland calves this year have been heifers so when Hamish goes we'll have to make him last. |
