It takes 858 pages to contain the practical advice, invaluable information, and "country wisdom" that is the substance of this book. If it had no section on poultry we would still recommend it without reservation for all the "how to" advice it gives for country folk as well as city slickers, but the 84 page poultry section makes it worth it weight in gold. | Is it better than John Seymour's original and best "Self Sufficiency"? |

We've got both and they are complimentary ...
I keep browsing through both of them every now and then ..
The poultry section is indeed great in this one ... loads of advice ...
it even has a section on "how to take care of your deads" ! (humans one ) |
