Yesterday afternoon there was a tremendous fuss from the birds; an explosion of guinea fowl, bantams going up on to roofs and into trees, which could only mean ground based predator. OH was out before I'd got my wellies on and saw the fox come OUT of the disused poultry house, in which the garden bantams lay. It fled without any birds I'm glad to report, but to my stunned amazement, a completely unruffled garden bantam was sitting on the nest on the droppings board, concentrating on egg laying! I do wonder whether he would have caught anybody if their wings had been clipped, as I suspect he sneaked in between the hedge and the sheds & was only spotted when he thought to pounce.

No clipped wings here either, for just that reason. Got one coming in the day here and just cant get him. The old boy who walks round with his gun is making a trap so hope we have better luck with that.
Glad your lot escaped Henwife Very Happy
