Had to spray 'bordeaux' mixture on potatoes and tomatoes yesterday. Developed blight really quickly. Hope all the rain today doesn't wash the treatment off. Will have to redo tomorrow probably. That's the problem with gardening - you are always battling against something, even if it as simple as weeds.

Regarding Blight it say's if blight is a problem it may be best not to grow maincrop potatoes at all, or choose blight resistant types like the new Sarpo varieties. Earlies are harvested before the main blight season, so if it is a known problem in your area, just grow earlies.

Maybe thats a solution

I've grown potatoes for years and never got blight. Think its something to do with altitude - I'm at 800ft. We do have problems with frost though and have to cover them.
