Frontline spray for cats and dogs from your vet will kill fleas lice and ticks and any other nasties on your birds.A quick spray around the vent area is all thats needed.A small pump spray bottle will last months.

Yes you can lie in the bath and watch them float around in there with you |

oh how horrid my poor chooks are still waiting on the mail to deliver the powder i used to use the frontline spray for my dogs and cats used to buy the big bottle but my vets stopped selling it and now only sell the spot on for dogs and cats which i think they are ripping you off with personally as i always thought it was more economical to use the big spray ,anyway popping to countrywide in the morning they have started selling frontline now the only thing is I'm worried can i use my mite powder and the lice powder and frontline?or will it be one or the other ,i think frontline sounds the best option and seeming there is no sign of the louse powder think i will end up using what i get tomorrow.thankfully i had my bath lol was so paranoid even got DH to check my hair!you never know |

Yes you can use all.Spray with frontline first. The carrier avaporates. The active compound is left behind on the skin and down.It will nobble any lice almost straight away.Following day you can use the louse powder or diatom powder. The frontline wont affect the diatom as far as I am aware I asked about this myself but its the shape of the diatoms that does the damage to the mites its a bit like being covered in shards of glass to them it slices them open and they de-hydrate.It works on the eggs too.Spray about once a month with frontline and use the diatom in the bedding an or on the birds the same as lice powder.A big deep tray or kiddies sandpit full of fine ash or kids play sand is good for the birds as it helps rid them of fleas and lice or the eggs too. thoroughly yuck I know I am going to be having nightmares about giant mites and lice tonight |
