| It looks like aol are quoting the Telegraph. I don't buy newspapers so I haven't seen this cr*p before. They've had bird flu for years now in Asia and they don't "bring lorry drivers out of retirement" there. This is just a general plan to cope with any sort of emergency that the government have probably always had. Newspapers have to make a profit and big headlines sell more papers. |

That's a very long link debcat. I don't know how to tiny it but I'm sure someone does and will do it for us.
I didn't bother to read it ~ tired of reading rubbish, but I wouldn't have expected that from a broadsheet ~ tabloid, yes. |

| I'm glad the papers aren't getting to you, Summayah but they're winding me up. I know it's all grossly exaggerated but at the same time I'm keeping my chickens in a covered run when they could be free ranging. There's nothing to say they should be covered, yet, but I've done it anyway so maybe I'm believing the hype. |

I'm certainly disappointed in how the coverage seems to have changed after the first 24 hours or so. Seems they've taken the time since the first day to work out the worst story they can think of
I actually feel more positive as each day goes by and there aren't any more cases reported. If the virus can only live for so many days (IIRC its 30 days or so, at cold temperatures?) and the swan had been dead for several weeks(?) then each day that goes by has to be a good thing, doesn't it? |

| I would agree with you Lisa ~ I would have thought that every day is a day closer to being all clear again |

My best use for papers is putting them under the chooks perch at night - they're comments the following morning on the papers are the most sensible I see.
All the scaremongering really really hacks me off.... |
