One of the first books we bought, and to be honest the one that made me think that we could probably do it. Not a huge amount of detail, but enough for an interested beginner to think about and know whether to continue finding out or run out for a guinea pig instead.
The other book by the same author, Keeping a Few Hens in Your Garden, is really a cut down version of the above book.

bought the small version first, prior to getting my birds. agree with Stephen that not a lot of detail, but had some really nice tips and ideas in it, and encouraged me (as if i needed any more!) to go for it! Really liked the small paperback, so then also got the hardback... colour photos , more recipes, seasonal stuff... just lush really! Although perhaps the video by the same author may be a little extravagant... but tempted maybe on birthday list! It got mixed reviews on Amazon, either loving it or complaining about lack of substance and general waste of money... depends what you are looking for! But i love books AND hens so... BIG THUMBS UP!!!! |
