Am currently sorting out the photos we took the other day, and making them smaller. But I couldn't wait to share this one with you. Blue had climbed out of the run, and she didn't realise that they couldn't get to her, so she just sat down as close as she could. I think this is so sweet.

And this is them, trying to be as close to Mum as possible.

This is when Aunty Rosie came to visit, but she was not interested in them at all, only the corn. Laughing

No, she sort of looked, and considering it's not that long ago that she was broody, I expected more interest. She was more interested in stealing the corn Laughing
Not sure what would happen if the chicks were running around the garden, I guess she didn't feel so safe, as she was in what could be deemed as their territory.
It's wet again today and I was hoping to have a clean oout and take some more sunny photos. I'll see what happens this afternoon Laughing

how do you feed the mother, whilst you've got the chicks ~ does she just eat their food?

is that ok for her, or should she be encouraged to eat layers again, but then would that be harmful for the chicks?

It's fine & normal as she won't lay for a while yet. She has her babies to look after!

Once they are weaned (proper term for chicks??)she will then need normal food to give her the vitamins & minerals needed to get her back into laying.
