Im loosing the battle to rid the garden of rats & mice.....(its also very expensive buying 2/3 tubs of rat poison every week) Am I right in thinking that it is up to the council to provide Rat poison & rid the area of rats ? Im sure Ive heard it is.......But i do live on a farm.....and keep chickens, so would they say that rats are only to be expected ??? Confused

I think they do do it - but whether they are obliged to or not is another matter - worth ringing them and asking though - I presume you pay your rates etc the same as everyone else ! Wink

Hello Knobby ,
If you are spending that much on poison wouldn't it be cheaper to get a professional in ?
We live on a farm and have a Pest Controller on contract . He does a minimum of 10 visits a year plus emergency call outs ( last year for wasps ) for less than £250.00 .
Money well spent !

Colin .

tricia(mrs mojo) uses old fashion snap traps baited with tinned dog food and seems to be thinning them out quite well make some kind of tunnel to put trap in and make it twice as long as you think you will need to keep the trap in the dark place along side a wall or suchlike fixing........................mojo

Ring them again and again and again!! you need it sorted before winter, or they'll be with the chickens.

So that's what you really look like!!

Why the yellow coat??

Surely you know someone with a JR you could borrow. call the local hunt, they may secretly know of some for 'hire'.
