Hi there, I have two favorelle chicks for sale. I bought them from a breeder in Northampton when they were two weeks old but have since decided that I don't want to keep this breed. They are lovely girls, friendly and healthy. If anyone is interested please get in touch and send me your email address and I will send you a picture of them.

I have two 5 week old male salmon faverolle bantams FREE to a good home. However I am in the Moray area of N/E Scotland but it may be worth a try. There may be another crazy chicken owner like me in the area!!

I have 12 in the incy 7 days and fertile. hope it's a good hatch..

Ok, thanks Petite Holder. I hope your hatch is more successful than mine was. 3 out of 8 and only 1 girl!! Luck of the draw I guess. However they are very cute and are quite friendly so should settle in well with the rest of my motley crew.
I will advertise in the local rag next as I have 4 young males at the moment and that is 4 too many for me!!

From what I've read and been told Faverolles make great table birds.
Just wondering if you would consider this option? I know I will and loads of people on this forum do.
Anyway good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I'm not averse to having a "food" option. What age would you recommend that I keep them until? I won't be able to do the deed myself but I know "a man that can".

Well I'll be totally honest with you...Ive never had Faverolles before so I'll guess at around 18-20 weeks but it could be a little longer..I don't think they are a slow growing bird so....Yeah 18-20 wks sounds Ok...
If you do....PLEASE let me know how it goes....Can't wait for a nibble...LOL
I am looking to cross Fav's with some Indian Game...I'll let yo know next year how that goes..lol

i know welliebird did some fav boys last year from eggs i sent her, and she was very pleased with the weight they made at a reasonably young age..............obviously not like proper meat birds, being a dual purpose, but very respectable all the same.............certainly the cocks i have kept (and have just now) are big heavy birds.

Thanks for the advice. I will keep you posted on the progress. Funnily enough its my husband who has gone all girly on me about eating them- and he didn't want chickens on the plot in the first place! Too be honest I don't know how I will feel when the time comes but corn fed free range chickens in Tesco are quite pricey so that may swing it for Grumpy!
At the moment they are rather cute looking and very friendly but I haven't named them and am trying to ignore their overtures. Their sister , FiFi is adorable though. I think I like the Favs almost as much as my Brahma bantams. Now they ARE cute- and so friendly.
