dh built our chicken house but has not had time to put one on the house yet so our pair have a box basically with a perch for them to roost over the one side and we have put straw over the other side in case they want to lay anything for us we have almost had them a week now and no eggs so far but they take their selves in every evening so they can be shut in safely and they roost on their perch and dh lets them out and feeds them when he gets up for work there's plenty of room inside the house just wondered would they lay in there or do i need to get dh to put a separate box on? |

You could use a carboard box, sealed and then cut out a large hole for them to get through. Put in the straw or nesting material and then place it inside the coop. Use could carry on doing this until he's either made one, or just replace with a new one every so often.
Like this maybe? |
