| The local Kent Battery Hen Welfare Trust has homes waiting for 1.900 hens but due to the wonderful "chicken out" campaign and other publicity regarding the terrible life led by intensively reared chickens, they have run out of their supply of ex batts. There are still loads of battery units out there that are sending all of their birds for culling. I wondered if anyone has a battery farm in their area that we might approach (trained bhwt negotiator only as this is a very sensitive area) to see if more can be rescued? Please email me privately with any info. It doesn't have to be just Kent. I will pass any contact info on to the trust and then, hopefully we can rescue many more hens and give them the life that they deserve before they shuffle off to free range in hen heaven. |
