i got a mix batch of 6 eggs maran, marn x and sussex, all running together.
now this little one was born wed just after lunch but others didnt hatch so on its own Sad what sex u think i know this bit early but we can guess Laughing

now under my broody there is 2 silver dorkings born over night of the wed.
can i take one of these to go in the cage with this one? this is one that my son has hatched at school, home for the weekend they are hoping they can have back for the week.
im tryin to find some more hatched chicks but no chance

unless its an autosexing breed its unlikely you can sex chicks that early...............after 24 hours in the incubby chicks should go in the broody.......just add the other chicks 24 hrs after hatching..........not a good idea to have a chick on its own they are flock animals and need to huddle for warmth and protection........i wouldnt return a single chick to school........send lots of photos or 3 chicks minimum more are better

the chick will not be going to school on its own i have managed to get hold of half dozen chicks same age as this little one picking up in morning, then i will decided if they are returning back to school , not made a decision as yet

were the marans dark and the sussex light? If so this will probably be a male - if not it could be either Smile
