Hi
I'm just off to look at a 2nd hand dog kennel (used once)which I intend to convert to a chicken coop It's made off shiplap t&g. The measurements are H48", W54",D46". Bargain at £25.00
Do you think a converted kennel will be ok and if so how many hens can I fit in it it will also have internal nest boxes. Many thanks

| mine is a kennel 60+ years old a bit bigger than yours but not much we have fitted external nest boxes by removing a few of the boards and using them for the back of the nest box you just need a floor on shelf brackets 2 ends and a lid we access ours from inside the hut as we had a few leaks when we used the lid ours stands on breeze blocks to give space underneath and no bending to muck out etc we have a dropping board under the perch |
