The title says it all really I have a broody who has hatched 5 chicks and we are now in the process of seperating them off from her as we wont be keeping them all). I'm just wondering how long after hatching the chicks it usually takes for the broody to start laying again?
Before she became broody she was laying every day. She is a light sussex and just coming up to a year old.
Keep smilin

| it depends - if she is looking after the chicks then it won't be for a while, if you take them off her I think they start laying again as soon as they get over the idea that they have no babies anymore. That could vary depending on the hen. |
