The breeders of hybrids tend to keep the genetic make up of their birds a secret. There's a very interesting article about the breeding of hybrids in this months (May) Country Smallholding. It won't answer your question but may help with your understanding. Most brown hybrids have Rhode Island Red in them as well as Light Sussex.

OK CP................
I was sitting, one evening a couple of weeks ago, with a glass of Glenmorangie (Malt Whisky) looking on E-Bay.
Going through 'hatching eggs' it dawned on me, one of the few 'eggs' I'd never hatched was Turkeys......

When I tried to explain to Mrs Sedgewort rr violent1 why I had Turkey eggs arriving, (well 4 lots actually). I told her 'The Whisky had taken possession of my mouse hand, and bid, It wasn't me, honest'.
Foolishly I mentioned this to my 'mates' here.................Bad idea!!
