We always have seafood on the day no cooking but I will be doing a rib of beef on christmas eve with all the trimmings, on the day we have toast and coffee when we get up a massive brunch at about 12 then about 5,I put out all the prawns , oysters, salmon fresh and smoked, scallops and salads then it is DIY, I only ever stew venison then I mix it half and half with beef to save pennies |

deb i'll look out for the venison ,sometimes next door to work sells it at 69 pence a pound
that's a really good idea ,gilly c
i only eat fish on christmas eve ,i'm a bit stuck ,it'll be prawns as starter on christmas eve and then a fish main course but it'll have to be quick as i'm working untill 5 ,and christmas starts when the first start rises in the sky ,before that i fast ,it's a tradition from the village that my family comes from in italy ,
oh says it's to make sure that i can eat the next 3 days food |

The French eat fish on Christmas Eve too.
We were having Fish PIe, but now Mr and Mrs Mojo won't be here til the following day, I may do something different.
On Christmas Day we're having Rib of Beef which I'll cook in my brick. I did one the other week, and it just fell off the bone.
Cold meat and mash and veg amd chutney etc on Boxing Day. |

| Christmas Eve is the big day in Sweden, not Christmas Day, and the Jul Bord (christmas table) has loads of smoked salmon, eel, herring, and ham. It's great, though more what we'd think of as a boxing day buffet. |
