| Saw those yesterday thanks Lisa - the delivery would be a problem to get them here. |

How about an old treadle machine housing? I've got a treadle maching, it has a fold out top and the machine lifts out and kind of slots into place, there must be some of those kicking around, even if the woods gone you could perhaps replace to fit your machine.

| They don't get this far north - but I will try our scrap store when they re-open! |

Those are Horn cabinets, aren't they? Like you say tho, delivery would be a problem up there
I just use a basic desk from Argos, but then I can leave my sewing machine out. If it has to be put away each time then I guess it would be more difficult.
I've got a treadle table in the garden - it's got my herbs on it |

| What I was really wanting was something that gave me the option of having my machine on top for 'normal' sewing, or down so the table was the same height as the sewing machine 'table' (if you know what I mean!) for working with larger items - like the fleece I sewed some patchwork to for Kirsty yesterday. |

| how about buying a strong secondhand table putting a second shelf underneath and cutting a hole the size of sewing machine base//////then you could put it away when needing a table top |

Trouble is if you have something that big then it really will be . . . well big, my treadle has a fold over top but it's not really big enough to use as a cutting table - I use my dining table for that (if I can clear enough space on it )

I could use something like that myself Jaydee! I've got this lovely new machine, only used once and I just loathe having to use the dining room table especially with all the bits doing patchwork entails and then having to clear it away... |

| Don't know if this is any use, but I sometimes put my machine on the ironing board, you can spread out quite well, and it frees the kitchen table. You cant sew very fast though or you start to vibrate! |
