Have any of you tried growing comfrey to dig in? I've done the water-butt thing to make liquid feed, but have just sown 40 square meters of it and I'm wondering if I've made HUGE mistake! It is going to be hard to dig in? |

not if you hire a rotavator......
having read the next post, a rotavator is not the answer. I guess you would have to strim the top off, save it and then hand dig ALL of the roots out.
I tried one, I forget which ~ the chickens ate it....so much for green manure I got chicken manure !

comfry can be a really bad weed ,as it grows from bits of root so if you try and dig it out and leave any root in, it respouts ,saying that i need some as the goats eat it .
