HONEY ROASTED PIG'S TROTTERS SERVED WITH ROAST POTATOES AND CARROTS
Ingredients

Serves 5


5 pigs' trotters
small jar of honey
100g demerera sugar
water
Method

Put the pigs trotters in a large pan and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 45 minutes or more depending on the size.

You will know when they are ready when the meat starts to fall away from the bone when you prod them. When they are ready, take them out of the water and place them on a baking tray.

At this point, heat the oven to 180°c.

Score the skin on the meat and pour on the honey to coat the trotters, then sprinkle brown sugar over them. Adjust the amount of honey and sugar according to taste.

Leave to set and put more honey on top before placing them in the oven.

Cook at 180°c for 15 minutes or until they are crisp and brown.

use them to make soup or stew( the trotters not the guys )...aaaaaah wel..........bring to the boil in a pint of cider .........simmer on a low heat till meat falls off bones........remove bones..........then add any veg you want plus one eating apple cut in small cubes.............put the bones on foil on a tray in the oven brown thourghly then put in a pint of water boil well strain and use as stock or to start another soup

Well, if you dont want to eat them now, put them in the freezer. Then for Christmas make a nice big raised pie, the proper sort with hotwater crust, and use the trotters to make the jelly which you pour in through a hole in the top when the pie is cooked. Oh..., the smell of a just out of the oven pie is out of this world.

You then have a lovely cold pie which you can cut and eat over christmas with salad and pickles or jacket tates and you dont have to do much cooking Very Happy

CP thats nonesense any one can cook..............if i can do it so can anyone anywhere............the secret is think ahead and dont rush and you have an advantage young men to help
