Just a little reminder, don't forget the forums and galleries do have bills to pay!

The sales through the Amazon shop & links have been very low since the beginning of Summer. Any purchases you make via the shop, or via an Amazon link on the website, will give the forums a small percentage of the sale price at no extra cost to you!. Please make all your Amazon purchases via the shop or our links - lots of small sales help to pay the bills just as much as a few big sales.

Remember, Christmas is around the corner and all those presents you buy via Amazon....

We want to keep the forums free to everyone, but to do that we need income from Amazon and the GoogleAds.

One step ahead of you Stephen - made a purchase from Amazon only the other day. Wink

I will also be looking for Christmas pressies soon, so hopefully Amazon will have something suitable.

I do click now & then, but haven't lately so I will do so now. Wink

Ah, I can explain. You see, in the Summer, I retired and money became tighter and I stopped buying from Amazon Laughing Laughing
Sorry, I'll try harder. And, as Dixie Chicks says, can we make donation?

We've always said that no, we'd prefer to keep the forums free at the point of use and fund it via advertisements and kickbacks from Amazon.

That way no one feels they should give us money, and we both benefit as you get your books and CDs and we take a bit of Amazon and Google's profits.

It should be possible - the running costs are quite low.

Normally the adverts cover the costs easily, but this Summer it's been very bad!

Sorry if this sounds a bit dim, but do you get anything if we click on the ads? I never do, but would if it made a difference Smile

Yes we do. That's the whole point of having them. We get nothing for them being visible, only if they are useful and people click on them. But only click on ones that are interesting, otherwise it's known as "click fraud" and we could have the adverts pulled from the website.

If someone clicks on lots and lots of adverts, seemingly at random, then it will be picked up.

Well I nearly bought some more things from Amazon tonight, but because of the outrageous P&P charge it never happened!

I wanted 2 new picture cards for our digital cameras plus 4 AA batteries, that's all. The P&P charge was £18!!!!!
(this was from the marketplace not directly from Amazon)

Couldn't believe it, so they lost my order!
