As you know I have had my two pullets for a week. Every night they sleep in the darkest corner on the shaving. I have a perch in there but they never go in. I am also hoping this is where they will lay the eggs. If they continue to sleep on the floor will the eggs get broken? Should I be putting them on the perch at night? I could put a nest box in the other dark corner if that would help? I don't think they will lay for two more months so I have time for training!

I would put a nest box in that dark corner during the day. I think if you leave it in at night at present they may sleep in it so you have a pooey nest box. If you can persuade them to perch then you could leave the nest box in, but it needs to be lower than the perches

perches higher than nest box cover entrance to nest box at night open in morning........put the ladies on the perches gently after dark evry nite for a week usually trains them fine
