Quote: New tactics are being adopted in an attempt to prevent an outbreak of bird flu in Britain. A surveillance operation to check for infected wild birds will concentrate on areas favoured by migrating water fowl. The zones include the northern and West Midlands, the south coast, parts of the West Country, Anglesey, eastern Scotland and much of East Anglia. The operation will also focus on poultry farms which could be at risk from the H5N1 bird flu virus. Continues at site.
