Summayah - I don't know. I bought mine at a show (it was from a Labtec stand) and its not run out yet...
NannyP - I'm not sure, I don't know anything about Battles Poultry Drink. I *think* its liquid vitamins and/or minerals but if anyone does know for sure, please say... And I don't know if you could use them together, or if they might interact? My gut reaction is that it wouldn't be a problem (on the grounds that i wouldn't think twice about taking a multi vitamin and mineral with food, and that food could have vinegar and garlic in it (eg salad dressing). |

| Nigel'll know what's in it, but I do know we put them in different drinkers, we've never tried to mix it. |

I only asked, cos it's the only supplement I use, I don't use ACV, but if you guys think they are both valuable, then I'll alternate. What spoilt chickens we all have |

| The first week of the month I use ACV....The third week I use a vitamin/electrolyte supplement. Weeks 2 and 4 are straight water. |

Yes you can! I rang up yesterday afternoon and it arrived first thing this morning
With postage (which is very expensive given how heavy it is ) it came to £10.11 I'm not sure how that compares with other online places? I did try one, but it wouldn't add on the postage until I'd put my details in, and I wasn't going to do that
My first bottle lasted me around 6 months for 3-5 chickens, and I used it a lot more than the recommended 1 week in 4.
I did ask on the phone about how often to use it. Their advice was: "the gar-rich needs to be used for at least 21 consecutive days to see any effect. After that, it can be used as much or as little as you like".
They also sent me a leaflet about Gar-Rich. If I can get their permission I'll post the details online...
I'm very impressed with their service.
They also do a liquid vitamin supplement called "poultry boost". I've got that in my other drinker at the moment... I'm gonna get those Rhode Island Reds laying one way or the other |

| some way back someone said why apple cider vinegar? on research it is made from CIDER APPLES as against eaters or cookers they have a higher acidic content and the pottasium is better too........so there you go ACV .apple cider vinegar not vinegar fron apples hope this helps..........mojo |

Ah, so it should be "cider apple" vinegar, rather than "apple cider" vinegar then? Mind you, wouldn't you only make cider from cider apples?
Okay, I give up....
Its good for chooks. That's enough to convince me! |

| Ok - I'm new to all of this and have been using organic cider vinegar from Tesco. From this thread I'm now assuming that it was completely the wrong stuff. Is it the same or not? |

I think from memory there's not much difference. The stuff from Tesco is might be too refined and not cloudy, (Cloudy is good).
I'm sure someone will come along and let you know for sure.
Welcome to the forum by the way!! |
