Okay, here goes.

This is a blue bantam orpington I think.

This is a black bantam Orpington deciding it wants to go where it's warmer, so a bum shot I'm afraid.

Tiny Buff Pekin, whos' brother or sister is still pipping.

Blue chick heading back to warmer climes.

The other Pekin egg had slipped inot the remains of the Orp egg, so my midwifery skills came to the fore!!
maran eggs, as far as I could tell, are still quiet.
Will take more photos later. flower

Thank you.
I was up at 5, because I have a cold and I was writing an angry letter in my head. Deb will confimr, I didn't go out and check til 7, and these are what I found. May move the maran eggs to another broody today, I will see how they're doing later.
So, still a pekin to break free this morning.
Smile

I think I should remove the box today, so that Mum and chicks can move around freely and then we won't risk a baby being lost in the dead space at the back. That's what I think, how about others?

Yes, but I wonder whether she'll give up on the marans once this last pekin is out.

I guess it wouldnt hurt to put them under another broody? But i only have experience of incubators ! I guess youve got a few hours yet to get a proper answer !
Now, get yourself out there and play with them !

I think I will, and then if they or one hatches, I can slip it back in with Blue.

Congr-hatch-ulations nanny p! Very cute! I love the blue one!

From my limited experience with broodies she should sit tight for a while yet. The chicks don't need to eat or drink yet and will be too wobbly to go far from her. I don't think she will abandon the eggs today, but you do what you're comfortable with.
