|
|
Does anyone here use a knitting machine? I've recently been given a rather lovely Knitmaster. It's a proper 70's job, all beige plastic and chunky knobs
It's got every single gadget known to mankind and it absolutely immaculate. It belonged to a lady who was too frail to use it any more - she saw an article about me in our local paper (I run a large Freecycle group) and got her son to offer me the machine. He reckons there's over a thousand pounds worth of equipment there, but she just wanted it to go to someone who would cherish it
Which I undoubtedly do - I just haven't quick got the hang of actually producing anything on it yet... |

What model does Tricia have, Mojo? Does she know what to do with it anyway, or does she need the manual?
If it's similar to mine (Empisal Knitmaster 260 - instructions apply to 360 also) I'd be more than happy to photocopy the manual for her |

My mom had one for years and hardly used it I gave it away to the charity people when she died as no-one wanted one it seems young lady's dont knit apparently not cool or trendy to be seen with a knitting pattern or something like that. When I was a kid everyone female knitted or so it seems and some men I was forever being poked in the eye with a number 8 |

My mum uses hers all the time and she is up in the Oct half term if you want some pointers. She'd love to show you I bet. Her sister use to teach it at college and also use to knit for a designer shop in Cumbria.
Like most machines, the basics are the same so it isn't that difficult to use....I have used one, but only to make a scarf and you can get loads of cones on ebay.
