Slide the apple into the leg of some tights (preferably old ones, not the ones you are wearing)so that the tight material holds the apple and tie the top of the material to the branch it wont fall off and get eaten then.
My grandfather used to slide marrows into the leg of a stocking(clean ones,and they were'nt his) to stop the slugs eating them before they were picked.
I presume midges can bite through stockings ? otherwise we would have seen pics on the news of the whole of western Scotland dressed like bank robbers be interesting to know the answer....................................................................................just curious like ..............................I'll get me coat

i haven't let the children take any pics of me wearing their tights over a baseball hat to stop the midges biting my face ,i'm afraid said ducks who shall remain anonimous stole the apple and where spotted running away with said loot from robbery ,any body spotting these should report
these should be approched with caution as the are considered armed and dangerous |
