The amount of knives I've bought in the past, looking for a really good sharp one!
Unfortunately, you can't try before you buy. |

| Global Knives are fantastic and hold an edge well and are easy to keep sharpened |

A seperate gadget - or can you get an attachment for the Kitchenaid ? |
You can get one for a Kitchenaid, but we got it as a separate standalone device because it had a good rep. |

That's always been the problem Mojo - I know the good ones cost money. Even buying a set years ago from Boots with the well-known name Sabatier on them, didn't guarantee me a good sharp knife.
I have also bought a TV chef recommended carving knife set, only to be disappointed with the results.
Not only do you need a sharp knife to cut properly, you also want something that sits well in the hand & is comfortable to use. This is really only something that you can find out when you use it all the time - something you can't do until after it's bought.
Perhaps I'll have a look at the Global knives & see if it's worth taking the chance. |

Yes they're called Global (a Japanese Manufacturer) , I've had that large Chef Knife 10 years now and as you can see it's still going strong,
Sabatier as far as I know are now a style of knife rather than an actual manufacturer, if you like the style look for Wusthof (Swiss)- they make some fantastic knives or the original Sabatier factory in Thiers, France
To keep them really sharp I use a minosharp water sharpener - very easy to use, requires no skill and I can do all my Global Knives in about 15 minutes. |
