I came home from work in a good mood; feed the chicks some corn Smile. Then was working on the new chicken house (pictures of phase 2 some other time Very Happy ) anyway got stuck when trying to build the external next boxes! Well there an absolute pig to do!

Whilst TRYING to do that I missed a brooder I wanted on eBay!!

Then when turning my eggs at 9pm everything went fine until I tried to turn the inc back on and the b*****d bulb blew! Ran out of the house zoomed down to the nearest tesco got a bulb and found out it’s not the right one because this one just makes the temperature soar. So at the last resort I stuck them in the airing cupboard over night and went and got the proper bulb from where I bought the incubator from in the morning! So the end result is I’ve got knackered hatching eggs and no brooder!

And on top of that I can’t finish the chicken house today because I need some different wood! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!

Please someone say they've had a bad chicken day like this just to make me feel better!! Sad Sad

I've had a few stinkers lately but always feel much better after I've written it all done for the forum to read, and next day things never look quite so black.

I hope your eggs will be OK, if not I know how upset you'll be, but set another lot and you wont feel half so bad, and you'll know what to do if the bulb goes again.

We all have bad days and I always feel everso sorry for my self and think everythings against me, but it isn't really, its just life I suppose Smile

With a brand new bulb from the place I bought the incubator from the temperature still goes sky high, so I’m guessing it's the thermostat gone! Looks like I’ll have to return it - if it’s questioned there gona have the eggs thrown at them Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy

10th/11th ish. I've just cracked the eggs open and 8 out of 12 were fertile. Gutted now!

What were the eggs? I don't think I could have borne inspecting them, knowing that there was nothing I could do.
