| our land is about half an acre in total (inclulding the house) and the chooks will be taking up about 50 feet x 30 feet at the bottom of the garden. is there anything else in the way of livestock i would have room for? we live iin arural area but in a row of houses, and although the gardens are big, we do have neighbours to consider. |

Personally on the size of land you have I wouldnt want anything other than poultry. You might get away with a couple of goats but you have to be mindful of the unpleasant side of keeping livestock so close to the houses.Smell, mess, removal of waste etc
More importantly their welfare and that they have sufficient grazing. You will need some of that land for your own recreational use so the amount available to the animals is no going to be much.
Stick to the chooks just get some nice breeds and have a load of pleasure from them

Id go for a good veggi garden and fruit garden if you have the room. Would work well with the chooks |
