I bought some New Skin - £2.79 from Boots Very Happy I tried a bit out on the back of my hand and it appears to be marvellous stuff!
Unfortunately I think there may be some dirt deep in Twizzle's cut, however much I try to clean it, so I don't like to seal it in.
I'll wait and see if I can get it cleaner first.

Back to the beak bits - I really need to figure out how to do it - the poor new birds had to be shut in a cat carrier inside the coop last night to stop them being bullied by the bigger girls Rolling Eyes

I tried soaking the bit in hot water to see if it would soften, but no luck Confused

Has anyone EVER had any luck fitting a bit?

Hi Fenn,

I managed to do it, but then I had Pat to hold her, really think it's a bit of a 2 person job,

You could try ringing the Wernlas collection.

http://www.wernlas.com/

I got my original chooks from there and they came wearing bits.

Their website says they have a free advice centre....

Cheers Lisa, I hadn't thought of asking them. I've been there (meeting someone to collect some chickens, sshhh, don't tell Laughing ) and I noticed that quite a few of their birds had bits on.

Chickens aren't as stupid as people think, are they Shocked The bigger birds are knocking seven bells of whatever out of the new girls, but only when I'm not there Shocked Evil or Very Mad

I'll ring Wernlas tomorrow. Like George says, I think it may be a two-person job. I just need to find a willing volunteer... Twisted Evil
