One of the new oven-readies kept pecking and tapping on the door of the utility room to be let into the house. Being soft as a soft thing, I let her and she has spent the last 2 days happily pottering around, eating titbits from the veg waste bin, drinking out of the dog's bowl, etc. Laughing

She laid her egg in a box of papers behind the sofa, tried and failed to roost on the mantelpiece, and even sat happily on my shoulder for a little while! Very Happy

meanwhile the others have abandoned their enclosure in the utility room and laid their eggs on a pile of breeze blocks and a pile of fibreglass Shocked respectively. Rolling Eyes

Awwww bless her! I bring mine in the house sometimes - but they can't wait to be back outside ( or so it seems) I think Higgy would live indoors if she got a chance , but Marl would not be at all impressed - still if it's raining & I want to cuddle a chook -in they come Smile

Ahhh, another softie! Rolling Eyes Very Happy
Our blind RIR bantam often spends time indoors. We feed her in an old (clean!) cat litter tray which helps to keep the floor a bit cleaner, but we haven't yet resorted to a nappy for her! Shocked Laughing
