sorry more pics for u all to either love or go grrr at me for
after putting 9 chicks under 2 hens that are sharing them all we came home to find the tiny pekin chick out, it had afreezing cold body and was laying there barely alive. it had got out through the tinyest hole in the hutch. at first my mum though it was dead but she rubbed its chest a bit and then brought it inside and put it under the heat lamp, within an hour it had gone from laying on its side just about breathing to walking and calling for its mum again. we have put the little one back outside and secured everything and amazingly its like nothings happened! they can be tough cookies sometimes!
heres a pics of the lucky chicky!
and some of the gang outside 2day!
the last one is one mother sleeping under the other, with all the babies under her! the gold laced has to puff up so much to get them all under her!
thanks for looking

ive never been so taken with hens that have chicks, i supose its because i watched them hatch out in the incubator and then gave them to the hen. the chicks are already okay with people and the hens are really good with them and us! i watch them for hours, i love the mothers and chicks relationship, when they peck the mum or just on her back its so sweet! its just keeping an eye on all 9, even with 2 hens its a lot as they cant actually count!
