I thought black was the original and most common colour and the victorians or someone like that preferred the steroetypical scottish romantic red look so they set about making that most common? Could be wrong of course...in fact, most likely to be! Laughing

Yes, the original cattle were black and came from the Islands. They are still a little smaller than the red.

Dont know if it was the Victorians that favoured the red but sounds about right.
