The local Pygmy goat breeder who we met at a local fair at the weekend says 2-3 weeks max - our neighbor whose goats are the parents of our two finally managed to convince a vet to do the deed on Friday - so Basil will become a wether and much more able to enjoy his life - out here Bucks have little value - due to the problems they cause - unless you are breeding goats as a business. Basil's father ended up in a pot as the chap who owned him did not really want a buck for the usual reasons.

Now Basil and Hannah will enjoy their lives in the garden - until Hannah has her own kids, the OH has approved the idea of more than two and the neighbors are planning more for themselves next year!

Thanks for the advice given - wish I knew how to post a pic

Many thanks for all the comments and advice - Basil is now a wether and seems totally unphased by his visit to the vet - a very nice Belgian chap who kept winding our neigghbour up by telling her that we had nearly left it too late and the next step would have been a curry - he did offer to bring wine!!

Thanks again to all
