I am after some advice as to when to castrate a Billy Pygmy Goat - we live in France and the local vet says he cannot do the deed until the Kid is 5 months old - however the books suggest 4-5 weeks to allow some development of his urinary system but otherwise as soon as possible.
Advice would be much appreciated - his mother and aunt are already getting fed up with his interest.

mine are done ,shut your eyes boys with and elasticater at a week old ,the same as the sheep

The other one we are getting is called Hannah born on 14th April - they are both lovely but Basil is already quite mischievous

hi I always remember as soon as you know you've got 2 but Check the books anyway, after something like 12 weeeks in this country they have to be done by a vet under anesthetic ,by law. but I'm not sure about in france. do make sure you get both. nonie

i was told it has to be done when they are young a somebody mentioned earlier past a certain age it has to be done under anesthetic by a vet.i like the name basil by the way Very Happy
