A BIG thank you to Aussie chick for her advice on getting photos on here...
Here's the picture of my Marans, far better quality! cheers As you can see, the male has much better developed comb and wattles and is far lighter than the female.

Well done on the photo grinningchicken!
I think mine might be girls! yipee.
I went out tonight at 6.45 and calmly waved arms about shooing them into their pen and it worked!! 4 mins later they were both happily inside. No stress tonight! thanks guys.

It was lovely today to see the girls out and enjoying the garden. Today was the first time they have come out of the coup before lunch time. They had a little scratch around and were so nice to watch.

They are becoming less frightened and were even on the grass today rather than amongst the trees and undergrowth.

I was given a big bag of Wheat yesterday and I used it as a treat ( thanks for that!) and they loved it.

Don't they just love wheat. Mine know when to expect it and as soon as they see you walking to the orchard they all line up by the fence waiting.

Just keep it to about an ounce a day and you won't be unbalancing their diet. As wheat digests more slowly an afternoon feed keeps them full through the night too.
