is it just my girls, or have anyone elses chooks gone off the lay, in protest at the weather?

its the only thing I can think of that will have upset them, as up until a few days ago when the really stormy weather hit, they were laying at full pelt!

I introduced some new girls a couple of weeks ago, but with the exception of the odd bit of putting the young upstarts in their place, all is peace and harmony.
They are all eating and drinking well, and no one is ill.

thoughts appreciated.

Got 42 in the rack at the moment. Getting roughly 5/6 a day from 19 hens, though 4 aren't laying at the moment as they're broody. Rolling Eyes

We've been getting 9 from 11 quite regularly this last week or so. Bad days have been 6.

Even down to 3 now and they're laying like mad. Mark reckons that they felt threatened by the removal of the others and thought they'd better step up production Wink
Ratchett's eggs are beautiful at the moment, far larger and darker than last year Very Happy Very Happy
