We've got the base down, we've got the frame up! Next on the list is the weld mesh. Smile

I can only find a couple of suppliers on Google - one being super expensive and the other working out at £45.77 for a 30meter roll of 1/2 x 1" 19 gauge, inc delivery. I understand 16 gauge is best, but at double the price I can't really stretch to that.

Before I order, does anybody know of any cheaper suppliers?

I'd like to order tomorrow if possible so it arrives before the weekend.

Then, all being well, we'll have our chooks at the end of March!!!! Smile Smile Smile

Thank you all in advance.

(P.S. I'm near Maldon, Essex if anybody knows of a local supplier)

hello, attila the hen got a different kind of fencing ~ look in this forum at 'simple fencing'. I don't know if that's available to you or even if it's suitable. Other than that I can't suggest anythng else, sorry

Chicken house man posted this link a while ago & says it's the cheapest he's found.

www.moncaster.co.uk

Haven't had to use it myself yet, so can't comment, but he recommended it. Wink

Good luck & lets have some pictures of your new chickens & their accommodation when you get them, please! Very Happy

Thanks you two! Moncaster is indeed slightly cheaper for a 30m roll, but we've just done a quick calculation and reckon we can get away with 2 x 6meter rolls (it's a lean-to so we only have to mesh 3 sides). The 6 metre rolls were slightly cheaper on prizepets.co.uk.

Apologies, I've just had time to look through this forum and didn't realise there was a discussion on here earlier. Embarassed

I'll post a picture of the run so far next week Smile

As promised, here's a pic so far..... along with hubby the builder - standing where the door will be. The coop is going on the 'extension'. It will be raised up so the girls can go underneath for shelter. The weldmesh has arrived so we'll be putting that up tomorrow. We've still got to finish the roofing and put barge boards on/seal the gaps etc.

I hope they'll be happy in there!
